Our Story
In 2017, in the bustling atmosphere of college orientation at Florida State University, two souls found themselves drawn to each other in the most unexpected way. Jacob and Mackenzie first crossed paths during a "speed-friending" event, where despite not officially being paired, they couldn't help but interject into each other's conversations. It was a serendipitous beginning that sparked a connection destined to blossom into something beautiful.
Despite their initial encounter, fate seemed determined to play a game of hide-and-seek with their budding romance. Jacob found himself continually trying to ask Mackenzie out, only to be thwarted by logistical challenges or their own shy avoidance of each other on campus. However, destiny had a plan that neither of them could foresee.
As Mackenzie embarked on a research project in India for the summer, Jacob seized the opportunity to reach out to Mackenzie via social media, sliding into her DMs. Their summer was filled with meaningful conversations that bridged the distance between them, laying the foundation for what was to come. When they reunited during their senior year, a single date was all it took, and they never looked back.
Their final year at university was a whirlwind of shared moments amongst now shared friends and future family. United by their mutual desire to explore the world, Jacob and Mackenzie embarked on a journey together, fulfilling their dream of living abroad and became teachers in Vietnam. However, life had other plans, and the unexpected arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to return home earlier than anticipated. Despite the challenges and uncertainties they faced, one thing remained constant—their unwavering love and support for each other.
In March of 2022, Jacob whisked Mackenzie away to the romantic streets of Paris, where he asked her to be his partner for life. With overwhelming love, Mackenzie said yes, sealing their bond amidst the enchanting backdrop of the City of Love.
